EPCOR’s Finance & Planning team is hiring a Senior Analyst, Process and Analysis [Full-Time Permanent position] within the North American Commercial Services (NACS) group, based in Edmonton, Alberta. This opportunity is open to internal and external candidates and eligible for EPCOR’s Where We Work hybrid program, based on business needs and eligibility.
This is a finance-focused role requiring a CPA designation, a strong accounting and financial reporting expertise guide process improvements and ensure compliance.
As a Senior Analyst, Process and Analysis, you’ll play a key role in transforming financial processes and driving operational excellence. You will lead initiatives to standardize reporting, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency across NACS Finance, while supporting automation and integration of new businesses. Your work will directly influence budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes, ensuring timely, high-quality financial planning and analysis deliverables and compliance with internal controls.

What you’d be responsible for
Reporting to the Manager, Process & Analysis, this position is accountable for the following:
- Reviewing and documenting current financial reporting and planning processes for capital, operating expenditures, and revenues.
- Recommending and implementing solutions to standardize deliverables, improve accuracy, and increasing efficiency around reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc) through evidence-based industry research.
- Assisting in automating processes and developing best practices for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Collaborating with and supporting the Finance Operational Excellence Team on transformation initiatives impacting NACS Finance, ensuring timely input and alignment; providing guidance on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and other system enhancements.
- Assisting with set-up of accounting and reporting processes for development projects, ensuring consistency and compliance.
- Collaborating with the NACS Finance Capital team to improve processes related to capital asset accounting and governance.
- Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, regulatory requirements, and maintain high-quality internal controls, including CSOX adherence.
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting for NACS and corporate requirements, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Leveraging tools such as Adaptive, Oracle BI, and Excel for analysis and reporting.
- Facilitating integration of new businesses into financial processes, including creating checklists and implementing best practices to standardize naming conventions, file retention practices, and usage of shared drives for the NACS Finance.
- Contributing to other projects and non-routine deliverables, including accounting research and ad hoc requests.
Please note: This role is focused exclusively on finance and accounting. It does NOT involve information technology (IT) responsibilities.
What’s required to be successful
Education & Designation
- Degree in the field of Business, Finance, or Accounting.
- CPA designation is required.
Experience:
- 4+years of directly related and progressive professional accounting experience.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and understanding of large corporation financial processes.
- Ability to apply relevant knowledge and technical skills to ensure the adherence to financial reporting practices, policies, controls and accounting standards.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Proficient in Oracle financial systems and planning tools such as Oracle General Ledger, Oracle Projects, Oracle BI and Adaptive, etc.

Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday
Wage: Starting at $53.92 per hour (Final wage placement will be determined at the time of selection and is based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement)
